Slide guitarists usually create lead and rhythm single note lines using chord shapes and chord tones. You will find that most of what sounds like "blue notes" are created from the notes that sound when sliding into a chord tone using the slide.

In this lesson, we'll create a nice rhythm guitar single note line that uses chord tones from a D major chord. The slides create the blue note sound. Once you master this chord, try outlining other chords in the same way.
