The main guitar is actually a twelve string electric guitar. I don't have a 12 string electric guitar but I do have an octave pedal that I set to one octave up and with just a little bit of detune between the two octaves. It comes out sounding very much like what we're going for today.

Other than that it's pretty straight forward, I'm playing a hollow body guitar with p-90 pickups and I've set the pickup selector to the bridge position.

The tone itself is kind of spanky and very 60's sounding. Not a lot of bass at all, I set the bass to 4, the mids to 7, and the treble to about 5. It can't be too shrill since we have an octave above our usual register, so watch out and make sure you don't dial in too much high end on your amp. And of course we're gonna use a nice and big spring reverb to really get that 60's sound.

For the overdubbed guitar we'll be using the exact same tone but we're going to take the octave up out so that we have a normal signal going to the amp.
