The diminished 7th chord is often used instead of a dominant 7th chord, to lead back to the I chord (or other chords, as a secondary dominant) in a minor chord progression.
The easiest way to find the right diminished chord is to take the root of the chord you want it to lead to, and go down a half step. In this example, we're in the implied key of Dm, so we'll build the diminished 7th chord from C#.
More ReviewsI find it quite easy (so far!) to navigate, and found the "where do I start" to be very helpful! I'm getting there!!
I LOVE the forum, too. I've never been one to use forums, but the GT forum is full of great people and helpful information at ALL levels! Congrats on a WONDERFUL site!!
Good job!
