Performance: With Character!

Now we'll put a handful of the previous techniques and approaches (upper-register common tones, hammer-ons in open position, and chord ornamentation) together into an Am, F, C, and G progression; this is a super common singer-songwriter style chord sequence.

The aim here is to demonstrate how a seemingly natural mixture of approaches can add personality to an arguably "overused/borderline mundane" set of chords. Stoking the campfire, if you will!

Once you've mastered the techniques and approaches used in this video lesson series, try tackling other chord shapes unique to common open position keys like G, D, and so forth. Enjoy!
