Description

In this lesson we'll look at the first 4 measures of our 12 bar blues.

We'll start with the G7 chord played in quarter notes for 1 measure. Then, in the 2nd measure we'll switch to playing a single note melody, a series of notes from the G minor pentatonic scale! Is the 3rd measure we'll switch back to the G7 chord. And in the 4th measure we'll play another series of notes from the G minor pentatonic scale, this time adding the flat 5th for a bluesy sound. Just repeating these 4 measures over & again is great practice at learning to switch between rhythm & lead playing.

After playing these fills in a descending pattern, then we'll also practice playing them ascending.
