In this lesson we'll look at the various leads and fills that Andy Summers plays throughout the song. These occur mostly in the breakdowns at the end of the choruses, but elsewhere in the song too.

These leads aren't exactly full-on "solos", but are more along the lines of solo fills that act as a sort of call-and-response to the vocals. The tone is thin and very "Strat" sounding with a touch of distortion; it really cuts in the mix.

Most of the lead playing is based around a C# minor pentatonic scale, and bit of the A minor pentatonic scale thrown in at times. Summers uses several bluesy type approaches with pinch harmonics, slinky emotive bends, vibrato, and hammer-ons and pull-offs.
