Description

Power chords played on the A and D strings always have the option of adding an additional note on the low E string. This power chord alternative takes the note being played on the D string, and adds an additional lower octave of that note into the chord as well. This new three note chord creates a very thick, heavy sound that is used quite often in metal and other forms of modern rock. Utilizing this new way to play our power chords, let's take a look at an example in the style of Rivers Cuomo (Weezer.)
