Description

Here is a fingerpicking pattern to play with songs in 3/4 time.

There are six steps to this pattern:

1. Play the bass note of the chord with your thumb.

2. Play the third string with your thumb.

3. Play the 1st and 2nd strings together with your index and middle fingers.

4. Play the third string with your thumb.

5. Play the 1st and 2nd strings together with your index and middle fingers.

6. Play the third string with your thumb.

The only thing that will change as you go from chord to chord is the first step of the pattern. You will always start the pattern with whatever bass note is appropriate to the chord you are playing.

In the next lesson, we'll do a playalong exercise in 3/4 time, using some basic chords, and some fun and easy chord variations for extra flavor.

In the final lesson it this tutorial, we'll do a song project in 3/4 time.
