For this lesson we are going to tackle a run that crosses the neck, using patterns that will use the same exact fingerings on each string...but again, to do so & stay within the Am scale...We will need to execute some position shifts as we move across the neck to each subsequent string. Also again, it's meant to help us break out of positional playing...and get us moving more freely up & down the neck. There are many, many different variations that we could come up with for this sort of an exercise...and there will be more to come here. But for now, we'll start with this one, since the fingerings are all fairly simple and even though it covers a good deal of real estate on the neck, the position changes are not too tough to deal will if you keep the speed reasonable when you start out. This sort of run is also something that could very easily be employed in an actual solo, if you take care to not over use it. ;-)
