I just purchased a used guitar. It is a 1982 Gibson Flying V. The serial #, according to the gibson website, says it was made on the 19th day of Jan. 1982. It sounds great! The neck is a little meaty, but it sounds awsome none the less. The plate on the head stock says The "V". Can any body tell anything about this year model? There is not much on the web, other than peoples private collection. Is it rare or just a 1 off for that year?

You might wanna read the rules on posting reviews then re-edit your review before you get the mods up your shibang.

Oh dont worry about it dude, its no big problem...just that this thread belongs in the gear discussion forum, and not in the reviews forum...but Playa has fixed it, and no harm no foul (well, one would expect).
anyway, sorry brother, I dont actually have any info one your guitar, except that I now know the first few digits from the serial number (if they did the serial nos back then the same way they do them now)
sorry to be on no assistance, but it does sound like you got yourself a sweet axe.
Hope is when we feel the pain that makes us try again

"READ THIS THREAD BEFORE POSTING -- THIS MEANS YOU!". In that thread are the rules and guidelines for posting in that section of the forum. To make things easier, here is a direct link to that thread:
