I just finished blues 1 and I dont have a good feel about my success. I actually did blues 1 twice. Its the part where your turned loose to make your own licks and good sound where I fail. Im just plucking away inside a scale and thats what it sounds like. I dont know what to do about it. Bill

Keep practicing and it will come, try learning a few songs that have simple lead parts in them so you can put those scales into practice, spend some time with the Jam Station here on guitar tricks so you can get more practice with improv guitar playing and maybe look into picking up a looper pedal if you think that will help or have a few jam sessions with a friend if you can.

Good advice from fuzzbox.

Yes it can get a bit frustrating at times, Bill, but work your way through it.You will make a breakthrough, I am sure of it.

Listen to lots of the blues you like. It will help to ingrain the feel of it in your mind.

All the best,

Regards

Joe

I'm glad you've had a breakthrough, Chris is an awesome instructor here on Guitar Tricks and his library of lessons is huge so I'm sure you'll find loads of content to help you with your guitar playing.
