Hello everyone. I am retiring soon and I've always believed you have to keep learning new things. So, learning to play the guitar is on my list. My ultimate goal is to play Greensleeves and I literally have the rest of my life to do this :)
Hello
Welcome to the Guitar Tricks Forum! You can check out this Facebook Live lesson on Greensleeves here: https://www.facebook.com/guitartricks/videos/3718922014794723
Welcome doc :-)
I retired six years ago and recently decided to take up the guitar.
I noticed the chap in the Facebook video played Silent Night, and beautifully.
My attempt was limited to just finger picking each note but I got there after a couple of weeks.
I couldn't do it at all and then after a nights sleep muscle memory kicked in and I played it (almost) perfectly.
I mention it because it can get frustrating early on, but muscle memory is an important part of the learning process. Be patient ....
He there Doc,
Welcome to the club!!!
What type of guitar did ya pick up?
Take care and looking to chatting with ya.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice/encouragement. I picked up a Donner Dreadnought. I thought I would dip my toe in first before upgrading.
