Hi!

I joined the GT free trial today and so far I like what I see. I've already watched about a dozen beginner lessons.

I am 56 and never played. I actually play the drums. I have 2 sons who both drum and one plays guitar and the other the bass (sometimes we jam together which is fun).

But the desire to play guitar has always been there on some level. So this Christmas I asked for a guitar and got one. So away we go.

The site looks great and I look forward to deep diving into the site!

Happy New Year!

Hi Mike,

Welcome on board :D, I'm determined to make 2021 count with my guitar playing... I've been playing a while but I hit a ceiling about 10 years ago!

Well then, let's keep tabs on our progress - sort of like an accountibility thing :D

In all seriousness, when I was thinking about doing this, I figured "I'm too old - I'll never get that good". But I didn't start officially drumming until I was 33. Never played in a band, but enjoy the hell out of it and got pretty decent at it. So why NOT the guitar?

Never too old. I'm 71 and just started learning the guitar. I have a background in brass, playing the cornet but that was in my pre-teens.

It's never too late and I'm enjoying the practice side of things but to keep it interesting I try to pick, literally, a tune. Something simple like a Beatles song or Pink Floyd riff. Currently, "Money".
