54 and never played an instrument before. I'm moving through the lessons, but wondering when I should venture out and try some of the actual songs, or does this come later. Also, is there a place to find a practice schedule?

Thanks,

-Scott

Hi and welcome Scott

I got into songs almost right away. I was 55 when I started, almost 56.

No real schedule per se. It's basically self directed. Fundamentals is a good place to start, as well as some easy songs if you're up for it.

I started with an hour each morning: chords, scales, etc. Then moved into Blues and some theory. There is a lot to learn. A nice easy pace may work well for you.

Best of luck

This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

Thanks for the advice. Glad to know I am not the only one trying this out a little late out of the gate.
