i am thinking about selling this les paul. i has a bolt-on neck and very narrow nut. i dont want to give away too much detail on it but what i am looking for is honest opinions on what i should be looking for price wise.

Real hard to say - I sold my '57 Goldtop reissue (2005) for €2200 - which is more than I bought it for. It had the neck through and was mahogony with the aged hardware and burstbucker pups, 100% mint - never played it because I didn't like the feel. One good thing about LP's is that they actually go up in value if taken care of. Try the guys at homerecording.com/bbs - there are lots of LP users and fanatics there.

ill give some specs about it now.

ivar johnson les paul copy (made in japan in the 70's)

carved maple body and Bolt-on neck (all maple it weighs a ton)
5 ply white-black body and head stock binding
1 5/8 nut
22 fret neck with black block inlays and 1 ply binding
gibson 490r and 498t humbuckers
two push pull pots for coil tapping

the work ive had done is (i kept all the old hardware):
new grover machine heads 12:1
new nut (bone)
the pickups and pots
new bridge

i bought this guitar for $60 it had no pickups, nut or knobs, and the finish had a huge glob of super glue where some one had glued a coin or something. there are a lot of scratches and and dings (its old) including one on the fret board at the 14 fret under the D string. there is a bug in the wiring so one pickup doesnt sound when the switch is used in the center position.

the tone of this guitar its very thight and bright. under the right over drive this guitar crunches better than any ive heard. i was learning a lot of ac/dc when i got this so its sounds great for that style.
