Why is it harder to play the C scale down than up?

Any advice on how I can get familiar with playing the scale going down? I've noticed it's easier to play it ascending but when descending I forget the strings. Is it just a matter of repetition and memorizing the shape of the scale?

[p]It isn't that I've noticed, so I think it's just perception on your part. Nor is any other scale. e.g. Maj & min pentatonics.

Pertinent advice on how to get familiar lies within your own second question and its self-intuited answer.

Repetition over time until intuitively rote.

It's not hard. Habituality and perseverence putting in the tactile slog will be rewarded.
