I would like to play a C, Am, F, G progression as power chords, but I'm not sure of any way to play the Am as a power chord. Does anyone know?

Powerchords are neither major nor minor since they are created of a root note and a 5th. They don't have the Major or minor third that would make them either Major or minor.

So in the progression you're trying to play, you would play a simple A5 powerchord.

e-----------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------
G-----------------------------------------
D----5------------------------------------
A----3--------7--------3--------5---------
E-------------5--------1--------3---------

Power chords are built with the Root and the 5th. (no 3rd)
The 3rd defines the chord as major or minor; without it, you are left with an Perfect Fifth (P5) interval, a.k.a. power chord.

The chords on the tablature are:
C5, A5, F5, G5.

Hope that helps :)
