I have a question about playing and storing my guitar in a garage.

I have the guitar in the garage, sitting on a stand, play it usually once a day all year round. Moved in to new house, I live London, at the start of summer so didnt think about the cold autumn and winter till now.

Should move the guitar out of the garage during the cold months? I dont have a hard case(I have soft cushioned one), should I think about getting a hard case?

Should I store the guitar in the house all the time?

Cheers

Hi there,

Yes, you definitely should get a hard case to keep your guitar in at all times, when you're not playing it. Soft cases can be good, but a hard case will keep the elements off your guitar.

As you may know, if your instrument is exposed to extreme temperatures, if it's too cold, or too warm, or even if the air is too humid or dry, it can permanently damage it.

Move it out of the garage and store it in a closet or somewhere else in the house in a hard case. Definitely!
