I've found that Guitartricks has helped me out a lot. [br][br]However, it would be cool to get some bass lessons also. I've been playing bass for awhile, but I don't really understand how to play along with the band.

That would be 'BassTricks'.

Oh, snap. I asked the same question:

But under Q & A, under the suggestions area.

I second this. Would be sick if we had some technique breakdowns and tone guides for bass. A lot of the guitar stuff carries over but theres some things specific for bass that would be a great adition to the platform. Especially with the rising popularity or jazz/funk fusion and hip-hop with bass guitar. Would be cool! Adds a ton of value to the platform as well.

I think its great for guitarists to pick up the bass. It teaches you so much about foundation and rhythm and translates back to guitar and vice versa. Knowing how to hold the groove will help your timing a boat load.

A really useful, albeit extremely basic, bass technique is hang on the root note of whatever chord you're playing bass over. Eighth notes works well.

Once you have that, finding places to go seems to start happening.

I'm no bass player, though. I don't even own a bass guitar. I just use an octave pedal to play one octave lower on strings G to low E.

I agree that the addition of Bass lessons would be good, and might even attract new members.

Just don't get the bass strings and fly lines mixed up, or you'll have tuning issues (but maybe a tuna would make this easier, along with using a Shark Fin pick).
