Browsing the beginners courses, I notice there are several play alongs. That is great, but the songs they are trying to teach do not interest me. Is there a way to change the song that will be taught to another song that may interest me more, using the content I have been learning up to that point?

Hi, great question!

We recommend certain songs in our beginner course, Guitar Fundamentals 1, because they fit in nicely with the skills you are learning in that course. But there are lots of other great beginner songs to choose from. Look for ones that have "Made Easy" in the title, because these are ones that have been simplified for beginners:

Thanks, but I'm not sure this helps. I would want to choose some I enjoy that use the chords I learned to that point. Is there a way to sort to find those songs or do all "easy" only encompass the very beginning chords we learn?

Hi philgrowjp,

I understand what you're saying. We do have a recommended songs list in the Course Index, but it may be easy to miss. If you're in Guitar Fundamentals 1 you can scroll down past Chapter 5 on this page and the song recommendations will be there highlighted by the green box: https://www.guitartricks.com/course.php?input=fundamentals1

It looks like this:

And to answer your question, the majority of the beginner or Made Easy songs will only use the basic open chords you would have already learned from finishing Fundamentals 1 and 2.

Thank you. That makes sense.
