I'm a complete guitar beginner, so I'm working my way through Guitar Fundamentals Level 1. But despite having "100% completion" on all of the first chapter (and one lesson of the second chapter), my "Overall progress: Guitar Fundamentals 1" is 0%

Is there something extra I have to do so the website will 'credit' me for completion of lessons? I'd like the progress indicator to... progress :)

On an unrelated note: I'm really enjoying the beginner's lessons by Lisa McCormick. The level of the material and the repetition/reinforcement are perfect for me.

I'm so glad you are enjoying those lessons from Lisa!

This guide to the progress system will be helpful:https://www.guitartricks.com/blog/how-to-track-your-progress-on-guitar-tricks

There's a 'mark as complete' button to click, so that the system knows you have learned what's in the lesson.

Hi, Ben! Thanks for the quick reply.

I read that 'how to track your progress' article previously. I've tried the 'completed' button, both at the lesson and module level, and in both Safari and Firefox (both on macOS). But it doesn't seem to actually work.

The page updates when I click the button (i.e.: the 'progress' bar is removed) but, if I then navigate to another page and come back, the progress bar reappears. If I go to the 'Progress' page and click on View More=> completed, there are no completed lessons found.

I've tried clicking on completed for as many as eight or nine lessons: none show up as 'completed', and my over-all progress for Guitar Fundamentals 1 remains stubbornly stuck at 0%.

I think you might have found a bug! It looks like the lesson page requires you to click that button twice due to a technical issue on our side. If you click it twice it will work and confirm that the lesson has been marked completed.

We are working on a fix to that issue right now.

Thanks for reporting it to us!

Something is fixed: I clicked complete on one of my lessons and boom: 4% of Guitar Fundamentals 1 shows as complete!

Thank you for looking into this- it is nice to make that little gauge move forward :)

Now I'm not suggesting we begin running laps as musicians. but I am suggesting we spend much more time on fundamentals.

In this chapter you will learn the basic functions of both hands, using a pick, how to fret notes and basic finger warm up exercises. Then it's time to learn your first simple chords and use them to play music! You will also get some tips about how to practice effectively.
