Not GNR...with Axl Rose...dumb guy... I wouldn't consider hair metal as a look but as a sound. You don't classify music by the looks...I mean, you listen to music, you don'y look at music. You can't just look at them as say, "hey, thats hair metal." Man, if you said that to Mustaine, he'd kick your ass...ok I'm done getting mad...feel free to flame. :p

geez :o
Yes I know what metal is, and I know that GNR fits into that category.
And no, I did'nt say hair metal is all about the hair, please read my post next time.
yeah - i got to disagree with mc9mm aswell.
most of the bands you listed are more like hard rock than heavy metal.

what i (and most heavy fans) consider heavy metal is for sure not GnR or Mothley Crue. Its more like Blind Guardian, Helloween, Manowar, Iron Maiden, Savatage, Virgin Steele and the likes. THATS heavy metal. and it has never died. all those bands have a long history starting somewhere between 1975 and 1990 and constantly threw new albums on the market. just because they never had a real big media performance doesnt mean metal has died. its just that hardrock has vanished from the tv-stations and now we have a thing called nu-metal which is even worse.

Well what most people think is'nt necessarily right.
If you look at the actual term heavy metal you'll find that Motley Crue is one
of the most heavy metal bands ever, they fitted into the category like a glove.

I never said metal is dead..??
I said hair metal and heavy metal is dead, and they are.
Heavy metal and hair metal were (are) styles of music rarely played today.
Metal is not dead, it's sleeping. It's not dead, like many people claim, it's
just resting until the right time for it to awake. Now is not the time.
Now is the time for nu- rap- bla- and blabla-metal, which I consider not to
be real metal, but then again, I'm very conservative.

Does'nt anyone read my posts??

Yes, many of the bands started in the 70's, and are still going strong, but in the
70's they were not heavy metal because then no such term existed,k and now,
well, they're just pale copies of themselves. And I do mean everybody.
Mention one heavy metal band still "keepin' it real" today.
Just one, and I shall be impressed.

Over and out of here.
Yours truly, Slim-Bob.
