What kind of synth effect (if it is in fact a synth) is used in Wish You Were Here. I beleive it is played on the Am in the verse, the sound comes in then fades out.

it's been a while since I've listend to the song, but I know a 12-string is used in most of the song. not sure about the synth stuff you're talking about

Ya, it's not a guitar. The sound comes in for only a few seconds then fades back out. It's cool and I want to use something similar for a song I'm writing.
