Lately I've been noticing that no matter what the subject a lot of people have been putting threads in the open discussion forum. Its kind of annoying, and if any moderators would maybe like to make a thread to help avoid some of these misplaced thread it would please me. :)

I move threads that are obviously in the wrong place however where there is ambiguity I leave well alone.

We will try to be more diligent iiholy, sorry if we have raised your blood-pressure !
My instructors page and www.studiotrax.net for all things recording.

Part of the problem is that we 'mere mortal' moderators can only move a thread out of our assigned parts of the forum. For instance, if I see a thread in the Open Discussion area that should have been posted in the Tech Talk or Gear sections, there's nothing I can do about it. (That's why we have Super Moderators).

If something gets posted in the Tech Talk or Gear sections that should go somewhere else, I move it pronto, but that rarely happens. Peeps seem to pick on the Open Discussion section because they think it will be seen by more people.

I didn't mean to be bitchy or anything, I just got pissed off by it for some reason. I go to the open discussion, and there's like 10 threads, and the rest there are only around 3. It makes me feel sad for those neglected forums. :(

I don't know, but I wouldn't mess with a deranged person!

I agree with you iiholly. The boards run the risk of "open discussion" becoming one monolithic mess when there are so many out-of-place posts. You moderators do a good job though, no doubt.
