Funnyiest thing this kid said.....

On the audioglaxy mesage board ( really dumb people). He said " Pertucci would not even be able to come close to the speed of kirk Hammett".

Im still laughing about that one. It is not even a comparisson.

And another Person said that Satriani owns Steve Vai.... I mean why even compare them..... they are basically both the same... they are masters. They are so klose...... Im not een going to try and compare them.

comparing artists is just another way of boxing art up..
be free music is in harmony not in concrete.

I'm also faster than kirk . I wonder how many other people on this site are. Not long ago i was telling my friend how i'm so much better than kirk and he got really angry with me and started telling me how he was one of the top 100 guitarists in the world(im guessing it must be done on some kind of popularity thing). But yeah, that kid really it a dumbass. Satch and vai are very similar in ways so that other person must have been a dumbass too.

By virtue of their electrical properties, tubes generate a special waveform when they're saturated, which is why tube engineering has tremendous tonal advantages over solid state or DSP solutions, particularly for crunch and lead sounds. Tubes enter the saturation zone gradually or softly, which lends tube-driven tone its trademark yet totally unique character.

Can I Just say that all guitarists r better than each other in different ways ie Stevie Vai is amazin at finger tappin and playin real fast but someone like Kirk Hammett is good at showin off and posin on the stage.

Also Joe Santriani tought Stevie Vai, Kirk Hammett and Slash(Loads of other ppl 2)

so in a way He should be better than all of em

Kirk could have been amazing and some of his stuff is but it seems like at some point he just stopped caring

i would say that vai is somewhat better than satch

he just seems much more creative

Just because he taught them doesnt mean he should be better. Maybe he was a lot better than them when he started teaching them but that doesnt mean they cant become better than him !

Satch taught Slash? I never heard that before.

LMAO@"Looks like a transvestite who has forgotten to shave!"

Has anyone heard the song of off St. Anger where Kirk sings back-up VOX.

OMG, he sounds like Elmo on crack.

"I'm falling in anger, I'm falling in anger."

I think that's what he's saying. I saw it on some awards show. It was so terrible and so funny at the same time.

Some other funny quotes from people:

"Kirk Hammet is THE best, I've never even heard of Allan Holdsworth, Shawn Lane, Frank Gambale...any of those guys you mentioned!"

Of course I edited it, so its understandable (took out all the "u" and "nevah"s and **** like that.

IT WASN'T REALLY ELMO!!!????

"Lets see… well I play the guitar and when I'm not playing the guitar, I think about playing the guitar. My other favorite instrument, is the guitar and if I aspired to play any other instrument, it would be the guitar...

I can’t sing so I sing through my guitar. So when the sound guy says: “Your guitar is too loud!” I think: "Why does he never say that to the vocalist?"

I would have to say that Vai is more creative than Satriani.... But remember he frikin grew up playin with ZAPPA. Gotta learn something from him. I do think Stariani fingers fly a whole lot faster than via's tho. Satch's fingers are huge and he's all over the places at soe points... really fun to watch.

HAHAHA...... good debate were the drums in St. Anger on a Foldger's coffe can or did the drummer hook up with the cookie monsters set ... A huge garbage Can....

I think the Garbage can works... because the music is Trash. IMO

wait wait wait

so ive now read that Satriani taught Vai how to play? and that Satriani grew up playing with Zappa (whose the man)

something doesnt seem right, Vai and Satriani sound nothing alike in my opinion I cant see one teaching the other anything

No. Satch taught Vai. Vai played with Zappa.

Yeah Vai has played with Zappa, David Lee Roth, and thats where he hooked up with billy sheean.

Satch played with deep purple for a while..... AND.... whats funny is that Steve Vai hooked Joe up with a record deal.... so without Vai theer would be no satch... and vice versa in a way.
