My favorites are Troy Stetina's Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar, John Petrucci's Rock Discipline, Paul Gilbert's Intense Rock I.
Any other good recomendations?

The Complete Guitarist By Richard Chapman, it starts off and ends off really nice, :). This book begins with an appreciative history of guitar, then gets into everything else, and I mean just about everything. There is an unbelievable organization in the theory (especially keys, chord progressions and improvisation), its one of those books that you never really get tired of, it stays true to the name.
