Is there a good combination of Dimarzio's to get this sound.

Get some "Screamin' Demons'", or some hot rail pickups, that's what Dimebag uses and I think you know what his rig sounds like.

Death metal!!! yeah!!! (no, we are not all a bunch of satanists!)

I think there are two pickups you might want to look into (besides the emg81, wich rulez!).
Dimebag Darrel uses the Bill Lawrence XL500 (bridge position). I've heared these give a similar sounds as the emg81's, only a bit less clean.
You were asking about Dimarzio's, the X2N has most output of all dimarzio's.(and has a clear sound)

These three pickups are similar in sound and amount of output. (not the same, but similar!)

If you're also going to change the neck pickup, make sure the difference in output of the two pickups isnt too big.(any "high power hb" wil do i think)

Dimebag uses Seymour Duncan pickups primarily, mainly the Invader (the hottest & most powerful passive pickup you can buy).

Thats the pickup he uses in neck position?
Cause i'm still pretty damn sure he uses the BL XL500 in his bridge position.

Of course i can be wrong, but then i would get scared, cause im a pretty big dime-freak! hehe

Dime uses Duncans primarily. His new Stealth moldel has the Bill Lawrence pickup.

All guitars that Dimebag plays are equiped with Bill Lawrence XL500's in the bridge pos.
Except the Culprit, wich has Washburn pickups.

It depends on the sound you are looking for. Chuck Schuldiner (of Death fame) uses DiMarzio x2n pickups, which he describes as "the key to his sound." I would reccommend either these or Supra distortions, both very clear with high output. (btw- EMG's, being active pickups, are cross-wired and are very difficult to install, especially in a guitar with passive pickups. And active pickups need batteries.)
