ACDC live

Just got the new ACDC DVD live at donnington '91. Its really cool but it doesnt sound live at all! And when I inspected the back cover it says "newly mastered"!! Flaming annoying!!

Ive never been an ACDC fan, but I always figured theyd be great live, even now theyre pushing the gravestone. I wouldnt buy any of their albums tho, maybe a live album.

I think there's an amount that they can overdub and retrack and still have it considered live. A famous example would be where Frank Zappa decides that a live solo of his is great, but it sounds too thin. So he gets Steve Vai to replicate it note for note and mix the track with it.

Well I dont see the point of it, esp on a DVD or video where you can see the musicians just arent playing what your hearing. On the ACDC DVD its been mastered so well it just sounds like the studio versions, I duno if thats down to them being great musicians or what. Also the lipsink it out :( thats thee single most annoying thing ever!

Well , you can see Angus playing on most of the songs, so i dont think they edited the solos or something like that.
AC/DC is a great live band, mainly because theyve spent the last 20-25 years in playing live, so i dont think theres any reason for them to edit the songs..

I saw ac/dc live a few years back, and I can honestly say that it was one of the best concerts I've been to.

I've seen many bands live and can safely say Ac/Dc are the greatest live band ever. They sound so good live, better than the studio recordings. I can't think why they would edit the sound other than to clean up some unwanted noise from third parties.

One of the times I saw Pantera was the greatest gig i've been to as phil performed well but usually phil was doped up or pissed so ruined the perfomance, Dime is always top bollox tho.

edit: oh yeah, they've been playing live 30 yrs now dude. Their debut album was released in 74 in oz and they'd gigged b4 that.

I"ve seen ACDC band 4 times and they rock. Twice with bon scott it was very cool. They opened up for aerosmith in 1978 in oakland CA. man what a great show. i was a huge aerosmith fan, but the band was so drugged they could not play. steve tyler could not sing and joe perry could not play they sounded like crap. i swore i would never see them again or buy one of their albums. about a month ago i saw them live after 20 year and they put on the best show. Steve tyler is GOD> ... Joe Perrry is bad asss . oh earlyer post B-52 kick ass. i've been a huge fan since 1980.

i've never seen them live but i hear they are good, and they are generally one of my favorite bands
