I am new on this site.

I share your frustration on progress on the guitar. You hit a plateau then you crack on.....I have retired now.

I have timing issues too. I strongly recommend you study carefully  the "Metronome song" in  Anders Mouridsen  Guitar Fundamental One, chapter2 Learning Rhythm. It is helping me at the moment.
