i see you do absolutely not know what you are talking about - the grand piano is the instrument with the largest tonal range in music (apart from some electronic things) - fullstop. go and talk to a singer who knows what he is talking about, and tell him that humans can sing 7 octaves - heĀ“ll die laughing.

and only because they say so on some cheap internetsite, it doesnt automatically have to be true - they also tell you you can enlarge your member by 10 inces within 2 days. :D

Again I don't think you have ever heard her sing. No doubt that the normal human voice, even professionals only sing 3-4 octaves. But no one but mariah carey can sing mariah carey's songs. Trust me, or listen yourself and see how high she sings. And if you talk to any american singer who knows mariah carey they will tell you the same.

She may not have a 7 octave range c0-c7, but she can sing the highest notes on a grand piano, i don't know about the lowest. But her range is more than any other singer just because of the highs that she can hit.

well - just because she can sing high that does not mean that she has a bigger octave range - imagine the highest note on a violin and go down 4 octaves and voila - you are in "normal" female singing voice

Ok. I'd say she's got about a 5 octave range then. Because if anything she's anything but normal, and she can hit notes higher than any singer out there now.

BTW a violins normal octave range is only 2 1/2 octaves. A normal human voice can usually go at least 1 octave below middle C. I know she can sing the 24th fret on the high e string on your guitar. So that would be close to 5 octaves in range.
