aside from my obviouse likes.... I loved all of the 80's pop (Non heavy metal) music that mtv used to play like, madonna, Tina Turner, Michael jackson, Duran Duran, etc. (I would never admit it to my friends back then...lol).
I also loved John Denver, The Dolly parton christmas album, some select Neil Diamond (like coming to America and some of his christmas music...it's funny hearing a Jew sing christmas songs...can you say...SELLOUT! All kidding aside...he's incredible!), Sonny and Cher, The Monkeys, The Partridge family, Even some country songs...lol.

Still to my heart...heavy metal and shred are still my choice of music.
I started learning guitar because of Randy Rhoads..but Yngwie J. Malmsteen is my biggest influence.

You know in my opinion I think Nu Metal started getting their roots as early as 1990 with bands like Saigon Kick. They kicked ass. It's a real shame they aren't still around. They definitely went against the grain as to what was going on at the time. Also a lot of their songs are as fresh now as they were then.
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?
