How do u think the quality of music has changed over the years? Do you think the guitar players of today are better? And the musciality of the songs is too?

Personally I prefer the modern rock, i think the 70s sound is too raw. There aint as much guitar heros around today but i think in general the guitarists are better trained.

I find a lot of modern shredding pretty soulless even though it's technically impressive. Ive recently started building up my back catalogue of 70's rock CDs and have to say I prefer most them to current and recent stuff. I reckon the relatively more primitive recording technology of those days lends some kind of feeling and edge which modern technology often seems to sap. Also I'm not sure that formal teaching is any big deal. Many of the best ever players in many genres are largely self-taught.

For as long as I can remember I've always liked the music of the days before my time, as opposed to todays music. Back then, if you were talented and people liked you, you got the job. Now, if you LOOK right you get the job.

Well, do you think kids 20 years from now will be listening to Britney Spears, Nickelback, and Eminem? Or Rolling Stones, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and all the other many many bands that were around before the 90's?

Well in Eminems case I think kids will still be listening to them, but you cant judge the last 15 years on a couple of bands from the last 5 years. Kids in 20 years will still be listening to Eminem, Guns N' Roses, Oasis etc.
