Metal Heads, need your advise.

I'm dizzy from reading all this stuff - now for the advice...
listen to what you like, but also listen to things that "catch your ear" the people who make the most sense to me muscially, have always had an ear for what they liked and it shows in their music. Combine, collaborate and grow. To learn to play all those styles you need to actually LISTEN to them. it's the old "you can't hear Jimi" thing...

as far as how to go about playing that music, go look at everyones tricks and start from there. But for shredding, be prepared to spend COUNTLESS hours learning the fretboard. Hope you don't like the sun too much. also, check out one of the new members, this dude Marcel Conen
