The first bar of G-Em doesn't correspond to the second one.

Im reading (first bar)  "G Down up Down  Em Up" but second barre is  "G down down Em up". I dont think thats covered in the build up lesson.

I could be delusional ;) Complete beginner.

It's a little confusing because Anders mentions both of those as options.  He shows strumming all the 1/8th notes at 1:52.  Then shows strumming the 1/4 note, then 1/8th notes at 2:20.  Then says it's okay to use either at 2:37.

Then when he shows the whole chorus later at 3:47 & 5:40.  He does both strumming patterns but reverses the order.

But the main reason for the lesson notation is that's how he plays it in the song performance in the next lesson.

The performance is usually the final standard to follow.  I think Anders probably just got a little turned around in his breakdown.  But he also clearly says it's fine to use either strumming pattern.  The main thing is to change chords at the right time & stay in time with the music.

Hope that helps!
