Morning GuitarTricks Folks

I have a legitimate question regarding the custom plan, "Custom Lesson Plans" new available feature.

It says on the email:

"Just answer some quick questions and Guitar Tricks instructor Dave Celentano will create a specialized, month-long plan with your specific interests and goals in mind."

However if trying to join I am immediately prompt to pay, without being asked the questions but alsoI can't see what I would really get as custom plan and how it really works.

In other words, I am following the Fundamentals 2, i have completed the one. Therefore i wonder if that is suitable for a beginner like me?

Thanks

The majority of guitar students at the beginner level will do just fine following the Core Learning System curriculum. Start at Guitar Fundamentals 1 or 2 depending on how much knowledge and skill you bring to the task. Jump to a Style course next or if you are more experienced.

The idea with the custom lesson plan is that there is so much content on GT it can be difficult to zero in on exactly what you need, when you need it, in the right order. So, if you are already more experienced & are looking for content on specific topics or techniques, or if you want a little more specialized guidance, the custom lesson plan is a good fit. A GT instructor will look at your survey answers & find the lessons that will target those topics or techniques, then build them into a lesson path for you to work through.

Hope that helps!

Yes perfectly clear, since I have just started Fundamental part 2 and I am very happy with progress I will wait for gettin on to that type of lesson, thanks that clarified all.

I just signed up for a Custom Lesson Plan last week. Background: I started learning about two years ago. I had already completed Fundamentals 1 & 2, Rock 1 and Acoustic 1 plus had done a few other random skill & theory courses as well as several songs. After hitting my two year anniversary I was wondering what to do next. I was just concentrating on songs and decided to start Rock 2 but felt I was a little unguided at that point. Just as I was getting that drifting feeling, I got the email about the custom plan. Fate? So I signed up, paid my $39 and filled out the questionnaire. It basically asked what I had done up to this point (summarized above) and my goals. About three days later I got a word doc from Dave Celentano (whos song lessons I have enjoyed) outlining what I should do on a daily basis for the next five weeks. It seemed to be tailored to my experience and background. I'm three days into it and already feel a little more focused and grounded.

I would not recommend it for absolute beginners since the Fundamentals course, and the next level style (Rock, Acoustic etc) courses are already well structured. My advice would be to complete Fundamentals 1& 2, at least 1 level of a style course, do a few song lessons, and then consider the Custom Plan to keep you going.

Yes Gary indeed I fully agree it is 10 months I am playing guitar and I am at 5% of fundamentals 2 and considering still struggling with Chrods change I will stick to fundamntals 2 till the end and then I will start Blues 1.

Thanks a lot for sharing
