Hi everyone.

I joined about 3 days ago, and it's great so far. I've taken various lessons a few times over the years, but stop for whatever reason?! My best guitar lessons were at our community college.. I learned the most there. I still have the materials somewhere at the house... but can't find it lol. So I recently picked up the guitar AGAIN, but couldn't remember much! I joined a free guitar lesson site where I quickly remembered the common chords, and I've learned several new ones too. But otherwise that course didn't work for me...I need real guidance, more visuals etc. GT seems perfect for what I need! I'm excited to see how it goes! So before joining, all I was really doing was nightly chord practice, and that spider exercise as it happens. I had a hard time with the song book arrangements from the other course, so I bought one on Amazon and strummed some chords on a few easy songs. Didn't even do tabs. Honestly, I'm so relieved to finally have some structure and guidance so I can learn!!

I'm starting at the very beginning to learn as much as possible!

Maria

Hi Maria. I also needed structure. I've been on here just about four weeks and my fingers are coming along. My fingers just laughed at the spider exercise at first, but now I'm pleased with how much difference a few minutes a day have made. I'm staying with the first four songs and the spider exercise till my fingers and strumming get more accurate.

Hi Lynn,

I know what you mean about the spider exercise! My pinky was especially difficult because it turns in a little besides being weak. But the practice does really help! Sounds like you have a good plan!

I only did three fingers for the first two or three weeks. I think Lisa mentions trying three.
