playing with ear plugs

Does anyone else play guitar with ear plugs in? I'm looking for any recommendations and/or tips when playing.

I have a rare ear disorder that makes sounds painful when they enter my ears. I also hear my eyeballs moving. (I know, it's bizarre.) It was in full swing a few years ago but it hasn't been that noticeable until just recently.

The only bad thing about ear plugs is that they make the eyeball sounds louder. But they do help a little with the pain caused by the sounds. Other problems I've had with sound are dizziness and vertigo but I'm praying that doesn't come back.

Right now I have a pair of Howard Leight noise cancelling headphones. But it blocks out too much of the guitar. So I'm looking for any recommendations of a musician style of ear plug.

I can't say I know a lot about this company's products since my wife sent me a link to them like a day ago: Flare Audio Isolate 2

I have some hearing loss/tinnitus due to decades of loud concerts and at a drag strip (my dad drove a funny car and they're known to be very loud). So, I got persistent ringing in my ears. Doesn't bug me but my wife is getting tired of me going 'what?'.

If what you have is something like Hyperacusis, this or a like product from this company might help. Granted, I know nothing of these guys and whether they're good or reliable but since my wife just sent me a link to these guys, I thought I might share. It might be worth a look around.

Yes, it is hyperacusis. I do get some ringing occasionally too, or where one ear "goes out" briefly.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I'm currently experiencing the same problem. Thanks for the recommendation. And any other solutions are appreciated.
