I'm a huge Priest fan (40+ yrs). Any amp setting to play any of there songs would be awesome. I have a Fender Super Champ X2. Thanks

For that amp, I would try 70's or 80's British (setting 11 or twelve) and maybe the reverb setting at Reverb 1. You'l want to play with the Gain a bit but I'd hazard a guess that the Gain does not need to be pegged to the top. Play with that a bit.

My assumption is that you'd prefer to hit the classic 'Screaming for Vengence' tone. It's not at dirty as you would think. It is overdriven though. There's a difference.

Think of it this way; Randy Rhodes' sound was distorted and dirty (great) but Preist in that era were overdriven. That's to say that the chunkiness of their tone was from the amp being played loud and to the edge and through big cabinets (likely). It's where you get that beefy but glisteny sound.

You want to do that with a much smaller amp. Set your expectation accordingly.

Still, you can get a sound that get close under the circumstances. With the setting above and playing with the EQ; set them to the bottom and chunk out the E string and turning the 'Hi' up firts to get the clarity and then bring the bottom after, you'll find that you can heare when you're getting close.

Just a few tips. Hope that helps.
