I'm a 57 year old beginner. Don't even have a guitar yet. I'm going to get one today. I hope this old dog really can learn this new trick.

[p]If you can, go to a local music store & try a bunch of guitars! Explain what your goals are, what kind of music you want to play.

Put a bunch of them in your hands to see which one one feels the most comfortable & fits your hands.

Best of success!

Hi Steve. A warm welcome to you.

I wish you lots of success learning to play guitar.

Oh, and 57 is not old. I am 75 and still not old.

Hi Steve,

I started last Jan at the age of 55. I think this was my 3rd or possibly 4th attempt since the age of 17 to learn to play. This time around though I made the decision to stick with it. Haven't missed a day of practice yet.

Take your time, get regular practice, things will come together.

This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

Hi Steve,

I look forward to seeing you in Guitar Fundamentals!

We start at the VERY beginning, and ease you in.

As for your age, you're a spring chicken. My Dad started playing at the age of 78![br]-Lisa

Got my guitar and have been spending time with Lisa every day. I'm on lesson 6 of simple C and simple G. Thanks for the encouragement.
