Hey - you guys ever been over at a friend's house or had some people over and you wanted to play guitar and have everyone sing - but you only know metallica and some led zep?

i'm curious to know what you guys think are some good, popular songs that aren't too complex and that most people would know and would want to sing along to. i'm thinking maybe U2, Beatles, a couple Bon Jovi songs, etc.

there was a similar topic ages ago about your top 3 songs on acoustic; this topic is quite similar.
excuse me, but i must kiss the sky.

As for the Beatles, I'd say We Can Work It Out, All Together Now (perfect for singalongs), Why Don't We Do It In The Road (Better on electric), and of course.... Yellow Submarine.

You can find chords for these songs and just about any Beatles song here:

there are alot of songs you could play but here are some easy ones.

Brown eyed Girl- Van Morrision
down and out - Clapton
Wonderwall - Oasis
Time of you life - Greenday
Anything by the Beatles

Hope this helps

It all depends on your friends, of course. I have had some luck with Violent Femmes tunes like "blister in the sun."

American Pie
Signs
Sweet Home Alabama

I've also had luck with patience where at the end some sing the background while others sing the lead

Rocky Mountain Way is a real easy tune. Especially if you've got beginner musicians there who wanna jam.
