Since you can't try one in person, the next best thing is the info on the web. You can also call and ask someone at a store, Fender or Sweetwater. It sounds like you want the thinnest C profile you can get. The modern Cs are pretty thin. These images give you some idea of the measurements & relative shapes/sizes.
