Hi All,

I am finally planning to buy my first electric guitar and have been playing acoustic for six months.

I plan for the MIM strandard Stratocaster after doing some research online. There are two versions the one with single coil i.e. the SSS and with humbucker i.e. HSS.

My question is which one is more versatile and gives more options in the longer term i.e. the one with which i can play variety of music.

Looking forward to some suggestions/guidance.

Thanks,

Fahd

HSS. Preferably with coil split, or tap, although the former is most common implementation these days.

I would say that HSS would surely be the most versatile. But let me also add that i just purchased the MIM Roadhouse Deluxe model that has the V6 knob in place of the middle tone pot. There plenty of options out there but i do love this guitar, those noiseless pickups are outstanding, not to mention the locking tuners that are the bomb too....Cheers!
