Noodling scales for lead free style

I have just recently switched from playing rythm acoustic to picking lead for church worship. There not much that I've seen (unless I'm looking in the wrong area) in terms of which scales to play. Do I play major scales, relative minors or pentatonic or mixalidean? How do I combine them? Signed

1. Guided course if you are completely new to ideas & skills required to play lead solos. For example, the Rock courses which have whole chapters dedicated to soloing, but integrated into the wider context of a whole guided curriculum.

This is determined by the melody & chord progression you are soloing over. If you look through my tutorials on improvisation you will get the quick & direct path. But if you are brand new to playing single note lead lines, then your best bet is to start the Rock Course & dive into the chapters on soloing.

I was taught to play by an old guy, with a nylon string guitar, who taught me basic open chords and a few basic songs, and told me the rest could be figured out on my own (he was mildly right.) with no knowledge of scales or theory I always find myself noodling for for about 6 hrs. a day (lol) developing a keen sense of rhythm and a professional ear for music, people always enjoy hearing me play. my problem is it takes me about a month to arrange a song. but I must say after going thru some of your site and reading this article my improv and arranging skills are picking up. THANK YOU!!! P.S. this is by far the best article on noodling I have ever seen, not that there's very many, but still, this is REVOLUTIONARY!. Thanx Mike
