How do you know when you're good?

Yes, you should COMPARE yourself to yourself. Otherwise how would you know what you need to get better at.

I love practising, i think of it like a computer game and completing certain areas of it!! Like last nite i wrote out the formulas/patterns for chords i didnt really know- stuff like 7, 7#5, m7, 6 etc, I know em all now!! On learning the 7 chords i thought D7 sounded like a bit in "roll with it" by oasis, i checked 2mins ago and i was right!!
I think am good because i naturally fall into solo/lead stuff when playing along to records. I know the major/minor and pent scales perfectly and Ive ben learning the roman numeral system of chords/scales for songwriting which instantly increase your understanding of how songs are compiled!

I dont worry about how good I am, my only goal when I took up the guitar was to be able to sing and play chords at the same time, I achoieved that so now I can only get better.

yeah man, thats a goal to try and go for. when i sing, it sounds like you took someone and raked his throat with a cheese greater. well im not that bad but im trying to learn pink floyds wish you were here like and sing it. and like i can do it fine except when im in front of people lol. i donno why. and like when i pick up a shiny new guitar i cant play as good on mine. lol i donno why. mines old it was my dads first guitar so i like am going to keep it and get new equipment i was at mars before lookin at **** and like since when are pearl pickguards cost 50$ what kind of joke is that? i gotta find a better store lol.

a guitar is an expression outlet.....it voices your emotions..providing you have the skill let it speak....
speech takes time...my tongue would trip over itself as a
child..i couldnt pronounce words if my life depended on it...i developed my speech but it took awhile....
i had to take it slow,think before i spoke,i listend to other people and avoided bad critism e.c.t

i progressed myself on guitar the same way

every persons voice is unique....
youll get the tools to sing in time...just dont give up

Clouded the guitar force is so cant tell you when good you are..
thats why you need anyone to tell you you are good to feel good..
thats what i think, its hard for me to think im good until someone tells me i am..
