I fully agree. Although there were many great bands but nobody comes close to their songwriting abilities, musicianship, harmonies, and performances. Also they changed the entire music scene in the 60's which opened the path to more great musicians and bands. They may not have been the greatest musicians in the world but collectively they made the greatest band. Just a few of the other greats at the top of my list are the Animals, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Yardbirds, Byrds, The Turtles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Three Dog Night, Deep Purple, The Doobie Brothers, Robin Trower, Stevie Ray, Kenny Wayne, The Who, The Guess Who, Carl Perkins, Elvis, Neil Diamond, Jethro Tull, Dire Straits, and Grand Funk. I probably have 100 more but those were off the top of my head.

Neil Finn , of Crowded House fame down in NewZealand , will be remembered as one of the greatest ever song writers also....
