Hello, Im new to this board (and to guitar) yesterday i purchased a crybaby wah and was wondering if you guys could give me some tips and tricks for using the pedal effectively, Also if you could suggest some good wah songs to learn. Thanks

Yeah, I still remember the first time I used a wah-wah for that song.

If you want THE PERFECT song to play a wah with, it "VOODOO CHILD (slight return)"!

Here is my modest suggestion. Almost everyone I hear rocks the wah pedal to the beat of the song: up and down....it's become a cliche. Try doing what Hendrix did a lot: open the wah and use it as a eq filter by moving it around very slowly for different parts of the song or solo, etc.

For an example go to http://shredlikehell.com (hit the music icon) and download "baskethead". I used the wah just like that in the lead parts. Sorry, I'm not trying to shamelessly promote myself, but the topic came up and I did have a recorded example to share.

Have fun. I love the wah pedal. They are very useful indeed. And congrats on starting to learn the instrument.
