vintage sound from my line 6 spider1V amp

will a fuzz pedal work with my line 6 amp to obtain the cello like tone I need for the song american woman by the grass roots or do I need a tube amp what does the presence setting mean. the acoustic part of the song is tuned in dgdgbd I assume the electric guitar part of the song is in standard tuning Im new at this any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you're referring to "American Woman" by Guess Who. Correct?

Could you be more specific as to what you mean by the "Cello sound?" Are you referring to the lead part of that song?

thanks for your quick reply Im referring to the song american woman by the grass roots what I meant was cello-like sustain the Instructor on guitar tricks mike olekshy his settings for the song are vox 30 model amp drive40% bass0% mid45% treble80%presence70% fuzz effect drive75% gain100% tone50% the cello-like sustain is from the main guitar solo my question is can i get that sound using my line6 spider IV 150 watt head with multiple effects or do i need a tube amp also what type of fuzz pedal should i use.

You don't need a fuzz pedal.

Your Line 6 Spider has settings to duplicate both a Vox AC30 & a Fuzz pedal effect unit. The manuals can be found here to figure out how to set up the amp.
