Anyone have any idea why the input volume in my Amplitube is so low? Even when I turn it up, the gauge is barely visible. I'm using the Alesis iO2 interface.

Another thing I noticed is it's difficult to get a decent amount of gain or distortion without having buzzing while I'm playing. The noise gate takes care of when I'm not playing. But like bending or holding a note I can't seem to get much of a clean sound unless I turn the distortion off.

Thanks in advance.

What DAW are you using? You want to be sure you have your master recording input set. Or are you using Amplitube for practice?

I use Amplitube to record and practice. I'm running my guitar into my Alesis iO2 and then straight into Amplitube.

Lately I've found that I can get a better sound by running my guitar through my amp and then through the interface and then bypassing everything in Amplitube.

I have Cubase but it's so complicated to learn that I haven't used it for recording yet.

And I guess you have set the input gain of the Alesis iO2 to the max?
When I use Amplitube with my M-audio C-600 I do not have to set my input gain to maximum to get the correct volume, but it is a bit different between my different guitars.

Do you see the LED bar on the Alesis iO2 move up to the maximum when you are playing on the guitar?

I actually have the gain on the Alesis pretty low, whenever I increase it, the sound starts to get pretty crappy.

And you have set it to Guitar input mode?
I do not have this interface so it is a bit difficult to know what is wrong. Do you use ASIO drivers for the sound input to Amplitube? There is something called input buffers in the ASIO driver settings that could be increased to increase latency, but also reduce load on the CPU.
Do you listen through the headphone out of the Alesis or do the sound come out of your speakers?

The sound comes out of my speakers. But when I'm using the software that came with the device (called Cubase), I have to listen to the guitar through headphones connected to the device. And then any playback or loaded tracks play through my computer speakers.

But in Amplitube everything plays through speakers connected to the computer.

ASIO4All and then I select my Alesis iO2 device for the input and then speakers plugged in the computer as output

Do you have a ASIO driver specific for you Alesis device?
Is the sound better if you select that and use headphones to listen?

Have you tried changing the buffer size in the ASIO4ALL driver?

I figured out a way around it. Whenever I play through my amp and then run that into the interface, then into Amplitube (and bypass everything), the input volume is perfect. I know this is kind of a roundabout way to use it, and this doesn't allow me to use the gear in Amplitube (although I can use the pedals and the rack delay), but I'll keep troubleshooting the issue.

Thanks for the info.
