Hi everyone..
I'm going through Lisa's new Fundamentals 1. Just because it's there. Most material which I know, but what if there was something I missed.. And it never hurts to have a different take of another instructor.
The first thing I liked is the is a quicker intro into the lesson. That alone is an A+ for me.
The second thing is I can run High Resolution with out taxing my audio/video output. I don't know if the production of the new lessons have anything to do with it. It works for me.
So far I think that A great job has been done by Lisa and Guitartricks..
Now back to running thru the lessons. Maybe I'll find a few more unknowns and bad habits..
Thanks GuitarTricks

I am enjoying these lessons as well, Lisa is one of my favorite teachers.

Are you having an issue with the time bar not advancing? The video plays but it stays at 0:00 and the indicator bar doesn't fill in so I can't tell how much time has elapsed.

I did not notice that yesterday.. I played the lesson I was last working on and it tracked fine.
I do have to run the videos on low resolution because audio breaks up on high resolution and video sometimes stalls. This is a problem with my old computer..(memory issues) I haven't run Lisa's lesson on the laptop.
You might try a different resolution, or the old video player if that is still an option..

Is GF2 going to be redone, too?

I really enjoy Lisa's style of teaching in core 1. I am still a third through with a lot to learn, so I hope she does a core 2 as well by the time I get there..

I'm impressed, too.

1) Video length is just right. A little more in the way of friendly chatting has been added, but it still keeps a high learning efficiency. Speed and organization are just right.

2) Video plays smoothly. In the past I had to download lessons constantly because they were always buffering. To be honest, I started spending more time at JamPlay because there weren't any tech issues with buffering videos. Now all is well, even at high resolution. That's enough to keep me on track daily.

3) Two really important improvements/additions. Maybe they were there before and I never noticed, but I like the backing tracks with drum and bass to play along with. Secondly, the tab with lyrics has chords written above the words. That's a big help for me.

Well done.

I have to agree with everyone on Lisa, she is by far a great gutiarist, great teacher ect. I've been on an off with Lisa for two years an have to say that Guitar Tricks has a gem. They are lucky to have her an so are we. Also have to say Caren is pretty darn good to. Im working on her "Yesterday" an already have gotten through the first verse, even with the barre chord. Let's face it they are all very terrfic....Gosh where were your guys in the 60's probably where the rest of us were.....learning the guitar, but being successful unlike the rest of us old people . Who now hope ,still, to be a rock star......LindaP

When I found out that Lisa M and crew had re-launched GB1, I decided to leave GB2 and take it again. Lisa has a winning personality and easy manner, not to mention, a very nice voice...no offence Christopher.
Years ago, I would have scoffed at going backwards with my lessons, but since joining GT and the knowledge I've picked up, I realize that it is about the journey and the joy of picking up the guitar in the evening and allowing the process to happen.
Keep up the good work Lisa, I'll be leaving you soon, but I'll be back to say hello when I need a refresher. And Lisa P - it's never to late to be a rock star.

I am new to Guitar Tricks and very much a beginner. I also like Lisa's style. And please do not misconstrue my comments to take away from the other instructors. They are great as well. Lisa has a slow approach to teaching style and this works well for me.

Thanks

Agree...Lisa does a great job...have enjoyed her for a while. Am UNABLE to get the guitar fund to play on my iPad. Comes up but acts as if it is buffering...must be me.

This is going on my fourth week with Lisa, core 1. I so agree with everyone! I always wanted to play guitar and tried the core trial, after the first intro lesson with Lisa I upgraded that day and bought a year of guitar tricks! I do not miss a day! Have learned so much she is an amazing teacher! I look forward to every lesson and also hope when I get to part two she is finished writing her program! I have looked around at some of the others and they are all wonderful also. But I cannot express my gracefulness to Lisa, I am not a quick study but have surprised myself with her teaching style I am learning to play guitar, very systematic! Thanks Lisa and guitar tricks!

Yes Lisa is a great teacher and I understand that she is putting together a new GF 2 course. It would be great to know when this will be available. Thank you Lisa.

I think the members above are talking about and are anxious for the 'new' Fundamentals 2 being put together by Lisa to build upon the new GF1. The quoted url takes one to the old GF 2; a collection of lessons six to nine years old ("Not that there's anything wrong with that." ;) ).

My apologies for misunderstanding your question.

The answer is, yes it is something we are working on, but we don't have a release date yet.

How about approximating a percentage complete, just to give us an idea of when it might be ready? I almost wish you all had finished 1 and 2 before putting either out, and I bet you all are wishing you did, too. :)
