Personally I find using a drum beat to be more musical and more fun that using a metronome. My Zoom G5 pedal has basic drum beats for a variety of styles and time signatures. I can vary the temp quite considerably. This combined with the looper is a wonderful practice tool.

Just my opinion. Rather than a metronome, you might consider a simple/cheap drum machine. There may be PC software for it too.

Hey rich,
Ya know @ first i thought playing with a drum beat rather then a metronome was just crazy.untill i seen that one hour lesson with via.
In one part of that hour he showed how to keep ur playin in time usein alittle drum machine.and it seemed to me why play to a click ,when u can play too a drum beat.
Now iam on the hunt for one.
The one via had allso had bass which he kept telling the guy behind him to pls shut the bass off.he obviously wasent sure how to set it up.it was new to him thats why..but hey take care.
